Eco-effectiveness to pursue resource valorisation and conservation: a new approach

Abstract

The new paradigm of eco-effectiveness is here presented and implemented, able to open up wider perspectives in the field of resources utilisation: it is a measure of their utilisation intensity, through the measurement of the distance between a real situation and an 'ideal state' (or state of bliss), that, in the case of natural resources, can be considered 'zero resources', even in presence of high level of richness, and even rather difficult to achieve. The model here proposed may be useful to get information about any situation, to make comparisons, and to identify solutions to reduce the distance.
