Abstract

This project involved working with a medical device manufacturing company currently in the process of identifying a new ERP system. This research aims to help in the decision making process, selection and implementation of the new system. The methodology used in this paper involved request for information (RFI), analytical hierarchical process (AHP), technology implementation envelope (TIE) and the technology acceptance model (TAM). RFI were sent to several vendors and six responses were received which were used to score each alternative in an AHP model. The result of the AHP model outputted the best alternative with respects to this company's goals. Next, the different modules that make up the ERP system were assessed and TAM was used quantify the user's perception and attitudes towards the system. With these two pieces of information, TIE was used in order to determine the best possible implementation plan for the system. This project's end result will identify the best alternative to select and propose an ERP system for the medical device manufacturer; however, due to confidentiality agreements the name of the vendor will not be disclosed.
