Abstract

Entrepreneurship has drawn a great deal of attention and become the topic of discussion among government leaders, academic scholars, business practitioners, and the like, in Vietnam, an emerging economy in Southeast Asia. This study examines the impacts of entrepreneurial attitude orientations (EAO) on entrepreneurial intention (EI) of Vietnamese adults. It also investigates the moderating role of sources of capital on the relationship between EAO and EI. Using the EAO instrument including achievement, self-esteem, innovation, and personal control developed by Robinson et al. (1991) and the EI instrument developed by Linan and Chen (2009), the authors surveyed 337 Vietnamese adults and found some significant results. Achievement, self-esteem, and innovation were found to have significant impacts on EI. In addition, sources of capital including savings, borrowing and sharing were found to be moderating the relationship between EAO and EI.
