Abstract

Salah satu kebijakan pengembangan bank Syariah di Indonesia adalah pengembangan jaringan kantor bank Syariah. Pengembangan jaringan kantor bank Syariah diperlukan dalam rangka memenuhi� kebutuhan masyarakat terhadap jasa perbankan berdasarkan prinsip Syariah. Sesuai dengan ketentuan Undang-undang No.10 Tahun 1998, hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan ketentuan perizinan kelembagaan dan kegiatan usaha bank berdasarkan prinsip Syariah dapat ditetapkan secara tersendiri. Ketentuan perizinan yang ada mengatur tatacara: pendirian bank (umum atau BPR) Syariah baru, konversi bank (umum atau BPR) konvensional menjadi bank Syariah, dan pembukaan kantor cabang Syariah oleh bank umum konvensional.
