Abstract

Der Beitrag wurde auf einer wissenschaftlichen Tagung anlässlich des dreißigjährigen Bestehens des Instituts für Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung der Bundesanstalt für Arbeit präsentiert. Der Autor zeigt darin, wie das "Beschäftigungswunder" in den USA zustande kam und kommt zu dem Schluß, daß die Dienstleistungsgesellschaft den fortgeschrittenen Industrieländern einen Ausweg aus der Beschäftigungskrise bietet.
