Arbeitszeitpräferenzen: ein Hinweis auf neue Repräsentativbefragungen

Abstract

"Eine Reihe von Repräsentativbefragungen über Arbeitszeitpräferenzen von Arbeitnehmern hat - unabhängig vom konkreten Befragungsansatz - ein erhebliches arbeitsmarktpolitisches Potential nicht nur für allgemeine sondern auch für individuelle Arbeitszeitverkürzungen durch Flexibilisierung ergeben. Auch neue Untersuchungen - auf die kurz hingewiesen wird, lassen hieran keinen Zweifel. Die im Beitrag von Engfer, Hinrichs, Offe und Wiesenthal veröffentlichte Befragung der Universität Bielefeld kommt neben wichtigen differenzierenden Befunden auch zu dem Ergebnis, daß der Wunsch nach kürzeren Arbeitszeiten anscheinend nur einen vergleichsweise geringen Stellenwert habe. Hier wird jedoch durch die Frageformulierung ein sehr spezifischer Bezugsrahmen gebildet, so daß dieser Befund nicht überinterpretiert werden sollte." (Autorenreferat)
