Abstract

Fremdenverkehr ist nur insofern förderlich, wenn er der von ihm profitierenden Bevölkerung den gewünschten wirtschaftlichen Vorteil bringt, insbesondere in Form von Einkommen und Arbeitsplätzen. Der Vorteil muss dauerhaft sein und darf die übrige Lebensqualität nicht beeinträchtigen, dies gilt besonders für Griechenland. Der möglichst genaue Nachweis von Auswirkungen einer Betätigung auf wirtschaftliche Kosten und Nutzen, sowie auf Sozial- und Umwelt-Verträglichkeit, muss vor dessen Ausführungen erbracht werden.[85] Die Entfaltung alternativer Formen von Tourismus wie z.B. Ökotourismus lassen durch bessere Nutzung und Schaffung vorteilhafterer Infrastrukturen eine gute Zukunft für Fremdenverkehrs-Ökologie erwarten.
