Abstract

Στην σύγχρονη "Οικονομία της Γνώσης", η καινοτομία καθοδηγείται από την αλληλεπίδραση των παραγωγών και των χρηστών, σε μια συνεχή ανταλλαγή τόσο της κωδικοποιημένης όσο και της άρρητης (ή άτυπης) γνώσης. Αυτό το διαδραστικό μοντέλο έχει σε μεγάλο βαθμό αντικαταστήσει το κλασσικό γραμμικό μοντέλο της διαδικασίας καινοτομίας. Μέσα σε αυτό το τοπίο, η λεγόμενη "άρρητη γνώση" αποκτά όλο και μεγαλύτερη σημασία, υπογραμμίζοντας την αναγκαιότητα της συνεχούς μάθησης, τόσο από την πλευρά των ιδιωτών όσο και των εταιρειών -αλλά και σε επίπεδο όλων των τοπικών φορέων που έχουν ως αντικείμενο την τοπική ανάπτυξη. Οι εξελίξεις αυτές έχουν αναδείξει τον όλο και σημαντικότερο ρόλο που αποκτούν τα τοπικά συστήματα γνώσης και το επίπεδο οργάνωσης τους στην προώθηση της καινοτομίας και της τοπικής ανάπτυξης γενικότερα.
