Bienestar, desigualdad y pobreza en España (1993-2000). Un análisis basado en técnicas inferenciales de dominancia estocástica

Abstract

La medición y las comparaciones de bienestar, desigualdad y pobreza de las distribuciones de renta son temas que suscitan gran controversia, dada la necesidad de introducir juicios de valor. En este trabajo, se compara la desigualdad, el bienestar y la pobreza en España, en el período 1993-2000, mediante técnicas inferenciales de dominancia estocástica. Dos son las principales ventajas de esta metodología. Por un lado, se utilizan juicios de valor explícitos y ampliamente aceptados. Por otro lado, las técnicas de inferencia estadística contribuyen a detectar qué resultados son estadísticamente significativos. Los datos del Panel de Hogares de la Unión Europea permiten el análisis de las tendencias en un período crucial en la evolución de la economía española.
