The Revolt of Promethean Man

Abstract

This paper presents some extreme, several people may perhaps even say, outrageous hyotheses. Human beings as muti-cellular organisms have been "created" by their genes as mortal beings to serve their purposes, and in the process of time have evolved a brain allowing them to visualize in their minds possible future realities. As a consequence they are able to influence more and more their own future and that of the human race. This allows them to a certain degree to revolt against their own genes and perhaps one day even to postpone or defeat death.
