Abstract

My thesis is that the prisoners' dilemma-game is a fundamental scheme of the economic theory of Marx and Engels. It is the game-theoretic scheme of the theory of alienation, of the theory of economic crisis, of the law of tendencial fall in the rate of profit and of the theory of revolution. All these things are exemplifications of the Marxian theory of alienation. So we can say, the Marxian theory of alienation is an early version of the prisoners' dilemma.
