Uma nota sobre as disparidades de renda dos municípios nordestinos

Abstract

Tendo em vista o crescimento do Produto Interno Bruto (PIB) da região Nordeste nosúltimos anos, este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar se tal crescimento ocorreu de umamaneira a diminuir as disparidades de rendas entre os municípios desta região. Para tanto foitestado a hipótese de β-convergência, absoluta e condicional, e também a σ-convergência.Os resultados mostraram que para a região como toda, os municípios apresentam os doistipos de beta convergência, além da sigma convergência. A β-convergência condicionalmostrou-se mais satisfatória, já que, a velocidade de convergência foi maior do que naβ-convergência absoluta, e, consequentemente um tempo de meia vida menor, sendo umaredução de dois anos e meio. O que mostra que as variáveis utilizadas na β-convergênciacondicional (Firjan saúde e educação), contribuem para diminuir as disparidades de rendaentre os municípios nordestinos.
