Formação de preços sob oligopsônio : O mercado de frango em São Paulo

Abstract

Neste artigo analisa-se a formação de preços no mercado de frango no estado de São Paulo nos níveis de produtor, atacado e varejo, considerando-se a interação deste mercado com os mercados de carne bovina e de insumos de produção e comercialização. Estimou-se um modelo de auto-regressão vetorial (VAR) com procedimento de Bernanke e correção de erro, estruturado com base em um modelo oligopsonista proposto para o mercado de frango. Pressupõe-se que os atacadistas (frigoríficos ou integradoras) determinariam, antecipadamente, a quantidade a ser adquirida e o preço a ser pago aos produtores com base em expectativas estáticas do preço ao varejo. Conjeturas a respeito da reação dos concorrentes influenciam a decisão do atacadista.
