Abstract

L'insostenibilit? dello sprawl urbano: un'analisi dell'impatto della mobilit? in Italia (di Roberto Camagni, Chiara Travisi) - ABSTRACT: La letteratura ?sprawl costs all? ha identificato numerose tipologie di impatti presunti attribuibili al fenomeno dello sprawl urbano, che vanno dagli aumentati costi di trasporto, di viaggio e per la realizzazione di nuove infrastrutture, alla segregazione sociale. In Italia, il problema pi? attuale e dibattuto riguarda l?effetto negativo che lo sprawl pu? avere sulla domanda di mobilit? privata, favorendo modalit? di viaggio a maggiore impatto collettivo. Questo studio quantifica l?impatto della mobilit? in Italia durante il decennio 1981-1991 e studia la relazione tra diversi schemi di espansione urbana ed intensit? dell?impatto collettivo della mobilit?. L?analisi ? estesa a 739 Comuni appartenenti a sette Province Italiane (Torino, Padova, Firenze, Perugia, Napoli, Potenza, Bari). Utilizzando la Causal Path Analysis, lo studio fornisce inoltre un modello interpretativo originale della catena causale che lega le caratteristiche strutturali di un?area urbana e l?intensit? dell?impatto della mobilit?.
