Abstract

La correlazione tra forma urbana e mobilit? nei paesi dell'EU: un'analisi statistica (di Marco Salatino) - ABSTRACT: L?assetto territoriale influenza notevolmente la domanda di mobilit?. Ad un?elevata dispersione territoriale corrisponde generalmente un maggior ricorso al modo privato individuale e quindi maggiori costi collettivi e minore efficienza del sistema. Da alcuni anni, specialmente negli Stati Uniti, si cerca di quantificare il fenomeno attraverso lo studio della correlazione. Il presente lavoro si innesta su questo filone di ricerca, illustrando gli esiti dell?analisi della correlazione tra indicatori territoriali e variabili relative alla mobilit?. I dati utilizzati sono aggregati livello nazionale e si riferiscono a 13 paesi dell?Unione Europea. L?output finale del lavoro consiste in un modello interpretativo formulato mediante path analysis, a partire dalle relazioni pi? significative identificate nel corso dell?analisi della correlazione. Dal modello si evince che la dispersione urbana incide sulla domanda di mobilit?, riducendo l?occupazione media dei veicoli ed incrementando le percorrenze chilometriche annue.
