Vulnerabilit? e regioni nell'Unione Europea: un servizio sul Mezzogiorno italiano

Abstract

Negli anni successivi al completamento del mercato unico europeo il modello di crescita del Mezzogiorno italiano ha sperimentato una significativa trasformazione. Le regioni meridionali hanno subito in generale un peggioramento dei loro fondamentali economici, soprattutto per quanto riguarda la crescita del reddito e la disoccupazione. Nello stesso tempo, le differenze in termini di sviluppo socio-economico dell?area si sono accentuate, confermando e rafforzando l?esistenza di "diversi Mezzogiorni" messa in risalto dalla letteratura meridionalista. Lo scopo di questo studio ? quello di fornire un quadro di sintesi della crescente differenziazione dell?Italia meridionale nel periodo di accelerazione del processo di integrazione economica in Europa. Tale quadro pu? fornire alcuni spunti di riflessione sul concetto di "vulnerabilit?" in termini di potenzialit? di sviluppo di un determinato territorio, al centro di un intenso dibattito anche in ragione del futuro allargamento dell?Unione europea.
