Contabilit? e potere pastorale. Il contributo delle tecniche contabili al rafforzamento del potere della Chiesa nel XV secolo

Abstract

Il presente lavoro intende analizzare il ruolo della contabilit? nel contesto religioso, in particolare valutandone la funzione come strumento di potere. A tal fine verr? applicato il concetto di "potere pastorale" illustrato da Foucualt (2001, 2007) al caso della Diocesi di Ferrara del XV secolo. Attraverso documenti originali scritti in lingua latina, si metter? in luce come la contabilit? rappresentasse uno strumento essenziale per rafforzare i cardini del pastorato Cristiano, ovvero salvezza, legge e verit?. Essa, infatti, forniva informazioni sull?intera diocesi e su ogni parrocchia allo stesso tempo, favoriva l?assoggettamento dei singoli sacerdoti all?autorit? del vescovo e catalizzava un processo di analisi dell?animo di ogni chierico e di imposizione della verit? promossa da quest?ultimo. Per tale via essa costituiva una preziosa "tecnologia" di potere in grado di influenzare il comportamento umano, in modo coerente con l?esercizio del potere pastorale da parte delle gerarchie ecclesiastiche, permettendo di ristabilire l?autorit? della Chiesa Cattolica. .
