El perfil del turista de la mancomunidad Bosque Seco, Ecuador

Abstract

La Mancomunidad Bosque Seco (MBS) es una Asociación de municipalidades del sur occidente de la provincia de Loja – Ecuador que se unieron, entre otros objetivos, para fomentar el turismo y el bienestar de la comunidad local a través de la búsqueda de soluciones ambientales, sociales/culturales y económicas. Se propone en la Mancomunidad el desarrollo del ecoturismo, ya que esta actividad puede conllevar efectos positivos para las comunidades locales y la conservación del medio ambiente. Este estudio analiza el perfil del visitante en la MBS llevando a cabo un muestreo no probabilístico y de tipo casual. Los resultados indican que los visitantes que se desplazan a esta área de estudio son: viajeros nacionales, que viven cerca de esta zona, viajan en solitario y permanecen un solo día. También suelen visitar los recursos culturales y demandan actividades relacionadas con el turismo de aventura o deportes.
