Valorização turística e patrimonial em ambientes florestais: dois exemplos (Mata do Sobral e Mata de São Pedro Dias-Alveite) no Centro de Portugal

Abstract

Os ambientes florestais são sinónimo de multiplicidade de usos e valores no contexto da sociedade pós-moderna. O turismo e as atividades recreativas, pela ligação às paisagens florestais de relevância patrimonial (as quais podem ter estatutos de proteção/classificação) e a determinados elementos diferenciadores como a aprendizagem e as experiências de grande valor simbólico, configuram segmentos de grande interesse e visibilidade para o seu desenvolvimento sustentável. As Matas do Sobral e de São Pedro Dias-Alveite, próximo da cidade de Coimbra, no Centro de Portugal, são exemplos relevantes de espaços que importa salvaguardar e valorizar através de propostas centradas em atividades de educação ambiental, lazer e turismo, em contacto com a natureza, o património cultural e paisagístico.
