A Psicologia do turismo na educação superior de turismo em Portugal

Abstract

Se a Psicologia é a ciência que estuda o comportamento humano, então, o turismo pode ser também percebido como um fenómeno psicológico, onde a psicologia tem como objecto de estudo a natureza das motivações do turista, das suas atitudes, das suas experiências, da sua satisfação ou insatisfação, da sua personalidade e da imagem mental que ele faz do destino. O presente artigo pretende analisar a importância da disciplina ‘Psicologia do Turismo’ na estrutura dos planos curriculares dos cursos superiores de turismo e/ou suas áreas afins (hotelaria, ecoturismo, animação, gestão turística, etc.) nas instituições de ensino públicas e privadas em Portugal. O estudo é exploratório e teve como principal enfoque as licenciaturas que oferecem a disciplina ‘Psicologia do Turismo’ como unidade curricular obrigatória.
