La industria de la hospitalidad en México y el diamante de Porter

Abstract

En un mundo en el que la competitividad juega un papel crucial en el logro del desarrollo de las naciones, es inquietante conocer los modelos que guían el actuar de uno de los sectores económicos más prometedores de hoy en día: el turismo. De ahí que la presente reflexión se centre en el análisis del modelo de propuesto por Porter aplicado a la industria hotelera, misma que es clave para el desempeño de la actividad turística de nuestro país. Se concluye que dicho modelo debe ser adaptado a las distintas condiciones de cada país, no obstante permite vislumbrar las áreas de oportunidad y amenazas del hospedaje en México.
