A Cultura E A Tradiã‡Ãƒo No Imaginã Rio Social: Aã‡Ãƒo Simbã“Lica No Patrimã”Nio E No Turismo

Abstract

A cultura e suas formas de representação, tal como a tradição, possuem um poder simbólico no imaginário social que é representado pelo patrimônio cultural e praticado pela atividade turística. Essas interlocuções contemporâneas se fazem presentes na composição do patrimônio cultural e o seu aproveitamento para o turismo. Esse artigo objetiva associar a cultura e seu poder simbólico no imaginário social às apropriações do patrimônio e seu uso turístico. A metodologia baseia-se no debate epistemológico de autores como Pierre Bourdieu (2002), Bronislaw Baczko (1985) e Eric Hobsbawn (1984). É mister compreender as razões das diversas apropriações do passado, desde a invenção de uma tradição até a incorporação de mitos do passado, em um caminho pelo qual a História reflete as representações desse processo histórico e o Turismo se utiliza disto para melhor compreender a atividade e o comportamento dos turistas e da própria comunidade receptora. Conclui-se que os conceitos de cultura, tradição, poder simbólico e imaginário social se apresentam ao Turismo como uma nova forma de entendimento de sua atividade e do conseqüente aprimoramento de seu campo teórico.
