El Impacto Del Costo Del Transporte En La Demanda De Turismo Receptivo Argentino En Uruguay. Un Análisis Desagregado De Cointegración Y Causalidad

Abstract

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo estimar la importancia del costo del transporte en la demanda de turismo receptivo de largo plazo en Uruguay para los turistas argentinos. Para ello el estudio considera información trimestral para el período 1998.I-2010.III y se aplica a los efectos de la estimación, técnicas de cointegración y vectores autorregresivos con mecanismos de corrección de error (VECM). Se estima un modelo en base a dos submuestras diferentes, que posibilita discriminar los parámetros alcanzados entre los turistas argentinos de acuerdo a su potencial cautivo. Los diferentes grados de cautividad se definen en base al alojamiento. Los resultados obtenidos indican que los costos de transporte no son significativos en el largo plazo para los turistas argentinos con menor potencial cautivo, aunque sí lo son para el grupo de mayor potencial cautivo. Se desprenden relevantes implicaciones de políticas afectadas a la gestión, planificación y marketing del turismo del Uruguay.
