¿Qué Es El Turismo?

Abstract

El turismo se presenta hoy día como una actividad que produce un intenso intercambio de personas y mercancías (Ascanio, 2007). Aquellos estados que requieren fomentar el turismo intentan celebrar convenios de reciprocidad o facilidades para el intercambio mencionado. Esos convenios pueden estar orientados sólo hacia las mercancías, hacia las personas o ambas. En este sentido, el visado o el permiso de residencia temporal que el implica es un condicionante para el desarrollo de la actividad. Si bien hemos desarrollado una discusión teórica de varios exponentes (resaltando sus aciertos y limitaciones en cada caso según corresponda), el siguiente ensayo intenta comprobar que los sistemas de visa concuerda con el proceso de reciprocidad del antropólogo estadounidense Marshall Sahlins. Esta teoría, a nuestro modo de ver, muestra muchas similitudes con el tema propuesto. Según fuentes provenientes de La Dirección Nacional de Migraciones y la Guía Argentina de Turismo y Afines (GATA) año LX, número 711 (2007), hemos construido una grilla con 38 países.
