La Sidricultura Asturiana Como Incentivación Turística

Abstract

El Principado de Asturias se encuentra en la zona cantábrica de la península Ibérica. Es una región montañosa y húmeda con multitud de valles de temperatura moderada debido a la influencia marítima. Las tierras con mayor aptitud pomológica son las de menor humedad y mayor insolación. El clima de Asturias es, en general, especialmente propicio para el cultivo del manzanero. Su cultivo se inició hace más de mil años gracias a su introducción durante la dominación romana. Desde muy pronto, pues, los astures aprendieron a mayar y prensar manzanas y a transformar su jugo en una bebida refrescante mediante su fermentación en cubas de castaño. La sidra es una bebida de baja graduación alcohólica, un vino de manzana muy grato al paladar habituado a él.
