Análisis De La Competitividad Turística En México Y El Mundo

Abstract

Las palabras competitividad y liderazgo no tienen el mismo significado. Esta diferencia se hace evidente cuando hacemos referencia al sector turístico. De hecho, países de América Latina que son líderes mundiales en recepción de divisas y turistas (OMT, 2009a) presentan un grado de competitividad cuestionable. Por tanto, este artículo tiene como propósito, comparar y analizar el estadio de la competitividad y liderazgo dentro de dicho sector, enfatizando en el papel que tiene México dentro de esta dinámica; sobre todo, se pretende analizar las causas que lo separan de su condición de líder y su escasa competitividad. Lo anterior, con la finalidad de emitir recomendaciones, enfocadas a contrarrestar los factores que impactan negativamente el desarrollo competitivo del turismo en México y que a su vez contribuyan al aprovechamiento del potencial turístico con el que cuenta este país.
