Abstract

El Reporte Brundtland (1987) en su definición de desarrollo sustentable (DS) presenta de forma implícita la reconciliación entre economía y ecología para las generaciones presentes y futuras, para satisfacer sus necesidades económicas, ecológicas, y culturales, respetando la capacidad de carga de los sistemas ecológicos y sociales. De forma similar, el Reporte menciona que el conocimiento y el desarrollo de la tecnología pueden ampliar los límites de los recursos base, pero que dichos límites no desaparecen.
