Abstract

Se define como migración al movimiento de la población, es decir el movimiento de personas a través de una frontera específica con la intención de adoptar una nueva residencia. Junto con la fecundidad y la mortalidad, la migración es un componente del cambio poblacional. Asumido como rasgo esencial —y contempladas diferentes acepciones de términos afines— se define que la emigración es el traslado de un individuo de un país a otro para establecerse a vivir en él, temporal o definitivamente; es un cambio de medio humano, de relación con el entorno social, objetal y subjetivo, a partir del cual se establece una nueva forma de relación de las personas con su hogar y con su país de origen .
