La pobreza en el caribe colombiano

Abstract

La pobreza es concebida como una situación problemática de índole multidimensional y multicausada, la cual es necesario contextualizar, caracterizar y comprender, con el objetivo de diseñar e implementar acciones para reducirla. El presente artículo constituye una breve reflexión sobre la pobreza como problemática con una dimensión económica, social, cultural y política, en el que se aborda la conceptualización de la misma desde diversas perspectivas teóricas, así como las estrategias que se han planteado para intervenir y resolver las problemáticas a ella asociada. Igualmente se presenta una aproximación a experiencias de lucha contra la pobreza en el Caribe Colombiano, en el marco de procesos de articulación de la institucionalidad pública, el sector privado y organizaciones sociales con presencia activa en la región.
