Acceso abierto vía diamante en revistas científicas latinoamericanas

Abstract

En Latinoamérica el movimiento de acceso abierto ha supuesto la democratización de la información científica porque los resultados de investigación plasmados en los artículos son accesibles para cualquier lector, sin necesidad de pagar o depender de suscripciones a bases de datos comerciales. En contraste con el modelo anglosajón, en el cual las revistas científicas de acceso abierto son sostenidas por tasas que recaen sobre el autor, en Latinoamérica estas publicaciones no suelen solicitar cargos y son gestionadas por instituciones de carácter académico. Estudiamos este modelo editorial, llamado vía diamante, indagando en las razones de su éxito en la región y previendo escenarios futuros.
