Abstract

En este artículo mostraremos de qué manera los árabes, aprovechando la caída de Bizancio y Persia, comenzaron la ocupación del núcleo occidental utilizando el islam, como fundamento de su nueva sociedad; por qué tras la muerte del profeta sus sucesores fueron nombrados Califas, a modo de interlocutores de Dios; cuáles fueron las causas por las que se les permitiría a judíos y cristianos seguir practicando su religión; cómo germinó la Yihad a modo de guerra de religión, y no como el tradicional esfuerzo interior; y cuál fue el camino que llevó al Imperio árabe a la confrontación, la división, la regionalización y a su postración ante el poder Otomano.
