Tras La Huella Del Constitucionalismo Cubano En El Primer Liberalismo Español

Abstract

Dentro de la órbita colonial y, como efecto del liberalismo constitucional español, llegó a Cuba el movimiento constitucional. No obstante lo anterior, el desarrollo en la Isla de una poderosa clase ilustrada de hacendados esclavistas supo moldear, desde sus intereses particulares, un peculiar discurso iuspublicístico que, con sus encantos y desencantos, generaría –aún al interior del espacio colonial- una fisonomía propia y auténtica. En ello jugaría un papel singular la defensa del sistema de relaciones de producción esclavistas, inexistente en la Metrópoli, pero que constituía el motor económico que impulsaba a la sociedad criolla.
