Abstract

El compromiso de involucrar a la ciudadanía en los asuntos públicos por medio de la implementación de mecanismos institucionales de participación ciudadana, lleva consigo un dilema relevante: ¿Qué profundidad o relevancia puede llegar a tener la ciudadanía frente a los procesos centrales de la formulación de las políticas públicas?. Este dilema suele ser resuelto por medio del diseño institucional del mecanismo que organiza, posibilita, limita o acota la participación de los ciudadanos en los asuntos públicos.
