Abstract

Tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial la contaminación ambiental se convirtió en un tema de inquietud universal, después de innumerables acontecimientos que llevaron a una alteración del medio ambiente tales como el uso desmedido del Dicloro Difenil Tricloroetano (DDT), de las nuevas tecnologías, la sobre explotación de los mantos acuíferos y la tala irregular de árboles -por mencionar sólo algunas. Estos hechos ocasionaron que a partir de los años setenta del siglo XX se crearan leyes regulatorias sobre el desastre ecológico y la falta de compromiso de los gobiernos y las empresas con el medio ambiente. De igual forma, estas reglamentaciones están orientadas a la promoción de una cultura de rescate ambiental sustentable que involucre al sector empresarial, a todos los niveles de gobierno y, por supuesto, a toda la ciudadanía.
