La imposibilidad de una 'juventud en éxtasis': la exclusión laboral y educativa en México

Abstract

El titulo de este artículo no debe sugerir una respuesta crítica –por más que resultara justa- al texto de Cuauhtémoc Sánchez, escritor mexicano que ha buscado transmitir una noción idealizada de lo que son los jóvenes, es más bien el intento de plantear cómo -nuestra sociedad local- ha preferido 'construir' visiones artificiales sobre los jóvenes hasta llevarla a no saber que son en realidad. Por lo tanto, para investigar este grupo social es necesario, en primer lugar, saber qué significa ser joven y cómo se vive, hoy en día, eso que se denomina: 'la juventud'. En segundo lugar, es importante ubicar a los jóvenes en general dentro del contexto económico y social en el cual nacieron y están creciendo. Particularmente veremos cómo las familias, a raíz de la crisis de 1980, tuvieron que buscar diferentes estrategias de sobrevivencia, basadas en el 'uso' del trabajo -nunca reconocido como tal- de los jóvenes. Por último, reflexionaremos acerca de la relación que existe en el complejo: jóvenes-educación-trabajo, en el patrón económico neoliberal.
