Gestión ambiental para la sostenibilidad en empresas de transformación del plástico. Caso de estudio Holplast

Abstract

Las empresas de transformación del plástico impactan negativamente en el medioambiente pues son grandes consumidoras de energía eléctrica y los desechos generados no son biodegradables, lo que influye en la sostenibilidad. Al respecto, la gestión ambiental según la ISO 14000:2015 contribuye a extender las ganancias a través de la minimización del impacto negativo al ambiente que resulta de la cantidad de energía eléctrica utilizada, materias primas, manejo de lubricantes y otros. Las empresas de transformación del plástico en Cuba poseen una gran importancia debido a su incidencia en otras industrias pertenecientes a sectores estratégicos, por lo que es una necesidad realizar investigaciones que permitan minimizar sus impactos negativos y propiciar su desarrollo económico. Se plantea como objetivo desarrollar un procedimiento que permita mejorar la gestión ambiental en las empresas de transformación del plástico. Los resultados de la investigación se resumen en la concepción de un procedimiento general para la gestión ambiental en este tipo de empresas basado en la ISO 14000:2015. La aplicación en la fábrica de tuberías plásticas de Holguín, Cuba (Holplast), evidencia la factibilidad de la propuesta como instrumental metodológico lográndose que dicha empresa sea económica, social y ambientalmente sostenible.
