La atención a la autoestima del adulto mayor desde la intervención universitaria: un imperativo actual

Abstract

El artículo que se presenta constituye el resultado de las actividades que vienen realizando el colectivo de profesores del Centro Universitario Municipal en el municipio Urbano Noris Cruz, con la población mayor de 60 años. Se tomó como muestra la matrícula de las personas de la tercera edad que se encuentran en la Casa de Abuelos del municipio, ellos mostraban dificultades en las relaciones interpersonales y algunos se deprimían con frecuencia. El objetivo de este trabajo es divulgar la experiencia en el accionar con esta población, desde la Cátedra Universitaria Municipal del Adulto Mayor. Al concluir cada encuentro con las personas de la tercera edad reflejan un estado emocional favorable, escuchan los criterios de sus compañeros y las familias expresan los resultados positivos que se evidencian, de la misma manera la dirección de la Casa de Abuelos.
