De la litografía industrial a la creación artística. Uso y gestión del Patrimonio Histórico Litográfico Asturiano

Abstract

Desde que abrió sus puertas en 2000, el Museo-Taller Centro de Estampación Artística Litografía Viña ha sido concebido como un lugar de creación para jóvenes artistas deseosos de profundizar el conocimiento técnico y la práctica de la litografía en Asturias. En primer lugar, el análisis ahora propuesto pretende trazar la historia de los establecimientos litográficos asturianos. Como bien es sabido, la litografía industrial penetró tardíamente en esta región, donde el método no arraigó hasta el tercer cuarto del siglo XIX, manteniéndose vigente durante un siglo. Además, durante una década aproximadamente (1960-1970), este sistema de estampación convivió con otros procedimientos de reproducción indirectos más eficaces como el offset. Consideramos igualmente interesante establecer un breve recuento del patrimonio litográfico aún vigente, entre el que se pueden distinguir los depósitos museables de los materiales reutilizables, dado que es a partir de su nuevo uso y gestión como se ha ido forjando el sustrato material de la litografía artística, que cuenta en Asturias con muy buenos representantes, lo cual se abordará asimismo en este texto.
