Hacia un código de ética para personal penitenciario en Ecuador

Abstract

La relación entre los miembros del personal penitenciario y los privados de libertad ha sido a lo largo de la historia objeto de estudios y debates en cuanto al tratamiento ético que merece. En el caso ecuatoriano, no deja de ser preocupante los atropellos a derechos fundamentales y constantes actos de corrupción que se dan en esta relación. En base a estos motivos, se identificó la necesidad y se tuvo como objetivo principal de la presente investigación el proponer la creación de un código de ética para el personal penitenciario ecuatoriano que beneficie las relaciones con la población penitenciaria y el respeto a sus derechos humanos.
