La sexualidad en el adulto mayor. Una mirada desde lo social

Abstract

Se realiza una revisión bibliográfica donde se abordan algunos referentes teóricos de la sexualidad en el adulto mayor. En este trabajo se enfatizan las barreras y contradicciones sociales que existen en torno a la sexualidad en la tercera edad, encaminadas a la reflexión y a desmitificar la vida sexual del anciano, se tratan específicamente las socioculturales, educativas y éticas. En Cuba, se proyectan estudios sobre la sexualidad del adulto mayor que tributan al desarrollo de esta esfera tan importante de la vida, pero aún resulta insuficiente el sistema de conocimientos existente sobre esta dimensión que repercute de manera significativa en la calidad de vida de las personas de este grupo de edades.
