O estudo crítico de Joseph Schumpeter sobre a democracia contemporânea: breves considerações

Abstract

Esta pesquisa objetiva analisar a crítica feita por Joseph A. Schumpeter sobre a teoria democrática, proposta na primeira metade do século XX, que mantém sua atualidade, diante da irracionalidade exposta nos processos eleitorais marcados por manipulações e notícias falsas, comprovando a inconsistência dos elementos fundamentais da teoria democrática clássica representados pelos conceitos de bem comum e vontade geral. Considerado a transição da democracia clássica para a moderna, Schumpeter procurou desenvolver um método teórico-analítico sobre o real funcionamento do sistema democrático, revelando a crise de representatividade da democracia contemporânea. O autor exterioriza que esse sistema não está voltado ao governo do povo, mas às elites que estão no poder.
