Síndrome de Turner: una mirada desde lo social

Abstract

La finalidad del trabajo fue determinar el impacto social del síndrome de Turner. En el proceso de la investigación se empezó haciendo una revisión teórica del tema, para luego insertarse a los contextos donde las portadoras del mismo se desenvuelven, siendo la familiar el primer lugar de interacción y socialización de estas personas, no solo en su desarrollo evolutivo sino en el tratamiento que requiere esta situación. Mirar esta problemática desde el punto de vista social permitió identificar cuanto conoce la población sobre ella y como interactúa con las mujeres que lo padecen, visualizando que este sector se vuelve vulnerable debido a las características físicas y biológicas que presenta. Se aplicó una encuesta a las portadoras, familiares y médicos tratantes de esta enfermedad, durante el periodo 2018, los resultados indican que existe poco conocimiento sobre la temática, que la familia brinda apoyo, pero no el necesario, debido a que carece de una intervención interdisciplinaria que contribuya al buen trato de sus portadoras en todos los ámbitos de su vida.
