El cáncer de mama en la sociedad del conocimiento, factores de riesgo asociados IPS Clínica Palmira, años 2015 - 2018

Abstract

Hoy en día en el escenario de la Sociedad del Conocimiento el cáncer de mama es el más común entre las mujeres en todo el mundo, pues representa el 16% de todos los cánceres femeninos. Se estima que en 2004 murieron 519 000 mujeres por cáncer de mama y, aunque este cáncer está considerado como una enfermedad del mundo desarrollado, la mayoría (69%) de las defunciones por esa causa se registran en los países en desarrollo (OMS, Carga Mundial de Morbilidad, 2004). Existen unos factores de riesgos asociados con la enfermedad que pueden aumentar las probabilidades de que una persona padezca de esta enfermedad y que es importante que sean tenidos en cuenta para poder prevenir y controlar el cáncer. Partiendo de esta realidad, el presente trabajo de investigación surge a partir de la necesidad de establecer cuáles son los factores de riesgo modificables, no modificables y pronóstico en pacientes diagnosticadas con cáncer de mama, en la IPS Clínica Palmira, en el Departamento del Valle del Cauca durante los años 2015 a 2018. Con los resultados obtenidos se pretendió generar recomendaciones fundamentadas en la promoción, prevención primaria y detección temprana de esta enfermedad.
