La comunidad árabe en la ciudad de Santiago de Cuba de 1902 a 1945

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo realizar un análisis de la comunidad árabe en la Ciudad de Santiago de cuba de 1902 a 1945. La utilización del método de lo general a lo particular permitió desarrollar un estudio coherente, detallado e integral del tema. Se tuvo en cuenta las causas de la emigración árabe a Cuba, condiciones que favorecieron la entrada de emigrantes a nuestro país, causas generales de la migración hacia la región oriental y específicamente hacia Santiago de Cuba y se analizaron aspectos como: nivel de instrucción, principales ocupaciones, religión y la formación en sociedades que permitieron caracterizar a la comunidad. Es válido destacar que la investigación fue motivada por los escasos estudios realizados sobre la inmigración árabe en nuestro país y específicamente en la ciudad de Santiago de Cuba. La historia local santiaguera adolecía de un estudio sobre la comunidad árabe.
