Abstract

El artículo muestra una revisión bibliográfica acerca de diferentes concepciones que trabajan la percepción social del envejecimiento desde los diferentes grupos etarios incluidos los propios adultos mayores. Se efectúa un análisis reflexivo y sucinto de los principales variables que acompañan este proceso como la jubilación, los estereotipos, la participación social, los agentes socializadores, los roles que desempeñan y la sexualidad. Se hace especial énfasis en la necesidad de que el proceso de envejecimiento sea considerado desde una perspectiva sana y en una condición de actives.
