Una mirada a las fiestas populares tradicionales en Cuba y a su salvaguardia

Abstract

Las fiestas populares tradicionales forman parte del patrimonio cultural vivo existente en las comunidades; contribuyen a fortalecer el sentido de identidad y al desarrollo sociocultural de las localidades. El artículo propone un acercamiento al origen y desarrollo de estas expresiones en Cuba y a la labor de salvaguardia que ha impulsado el sistema nacional de Casas de Cultura, desde su creación hasta hoy. Se destaca el rol protagónico que en este proceso desempeñan los actores sociales, fundamentalmente, los portadores de tradiciones.
