Equidad de género: universitarias con hijos

Abstract

La mujer ha logrado insertarse en el ámbito universitario pero no sin cierto tipo de discriminación. El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar los retos que enfrentan las estudiantes universitarias con hijos durante su permanencia en la escuela. Se trata de un estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo, no experimental y transversal. Se aplicó un cuestionario a 146 estudiantes universitarias con hijos menores de 6 años, de 10 universidades públicas y privadas de la ciudad de Mérida Yucatán. Entre los principales resultados se encuentran que enfrentan dificultades económicas y relativas al cuidado de su hijo (a) mientras estudian. Muchas han tenido que darse de baja temporal de la escuela y tuvieron dificultades al ingresar a la universidad y para permanecer en ella. Demandan el apoyo de la escuela, compañeros, docentes y administración para poder cumplir con sus tareas y trabajos y culminar con éxito sus estudios.
