Agricultura y desarrollo local en la región andina – Ecuador

Abstract

El presente estudio establece criterios que permiten identificar el desarrollo local de las provincias que se encuentran en la región andina del Ecuador. Para ello se realiza el análisis de datos socioeconómicos de la región andina formada por 10 provincias que se encuentran ubicadas a lo largo de la Cordillera de los Andes. Los principales resultados de la investigación establecen la sostenibilidad del desarrollo local mediante el crecimiento de la producción y principalmente del Valor Agregado Bruto, teniendo como principal actividad económica la agricultura. Así, cuanta más participación de las empresas familiares, pequeñas y medianas empresas, incrementan los aspectos socioeconómicos de los grupos familiares y de la población en general, mediante la producción y comercialización de los productos que principalmente son agropecuarios en las provincias de la región andina del Ecuador, por su composición de la población mayoritariamente indígena.
