Ciencia arqueológica y sus aportes al conocimiento de la ocupación aborigen en la región más occidental de Cuba

Abstract

El trabajo presenta un estudio sobre el patrón de asentamiento a nivel regional en la Península de Guanahacabibes, provincia Pinar del Río. Se constatan algunas regularidades en función de la organización, dinamismo y adaptabilidad de las comunidades aborígenes que poblaron el territorio teniendo en cuenta: las categorías de los 162 sitios arqueológicos recogidos en el Censo Arqueológico Aborigen de Cuba (2013), su relación con el complejo territorial natural y productivo; y la evaluación de la actividad económica subsistencial a partir del procedimiento Correlación de Valores de Consumo en siete residuarios. Acompañan al texto representaciones cartográficas que caracterizan de manera integrada los análisis de la región más occidental de Cuba.
