Abstract

Este articulo representa un acercamiento inicial a cómo los movimientos sociales venezolanos caracterizaron la coyuntura histórica que atravesaron durante la última década del siglo pasado. Para ello tomamos como objeto de estudio a "Referencias", la prensa escrita del primer organismo de derechos humanos del país, donde nos planteamos investigar de qué manera interpretaron la protesta social y cómo definieron la violencia institucional del Caracazo, que fue la masacre más representativa del siglo XX.
